Join me in my Wimbledon kitchen where I demonstrate five simple, thrifty meals based on what sustainable, and/or seasonal produce is available that week in the supermarket, each with elements that can be prepared in advance.
I cover:
· what's 'good to eat now'
· how to shop using the concept of the 'capsule larder'
· how to decide what to cook
· which ingredients can be prepared in advance and how to handle them
· key know-how to help you make the dishes without recipes
A sample menu from a week in May: asparagus and herb quiche with wholemeal spelt pastry; green soup and anchovy toast; spelt risotto with mushrooms, sheep Wensleydale and spring greens; marinated chicken thighs with dressed greens and basmati rice; stuffed chicory in parma ham with mustard sauce and dressed salad leaves.
HOW TO BOOK
Booking is via the third-party ticketing and registration platform Eventbrite (www.eventbrite.co.uk). You can access the relevant pages on their website by clicking on the dates below. PRIVATE DEMOS
If you would like to arrange a private demo for a group of friends or colleagues, please drop me a line at info@thebooklesscook.co.uk, letting me know which days of the week suit you best. I'm not usually available on weekends or evenings, but can occasionally make exceptions. Once we have agreed a mutually convenient date and time, I will email you a questionnaire to capture the details I need to help me plan your demo. Upon receipt of your completed questionnaire, I will send you a link to enable payment via the Eventbrite website. You will have one week to complete the questionnaire and make payment before your chosen date is released.
